It's already been a year today...

My Beautiful Momma- I Love You So Very Much

It feels like this year went by with a blink of an eye. Exactly one year ago today, my entire world fell apart when my mothers battle with the many terrible side effects of diabetes ended. She was my rock, my best friend, my nourish-er, my life has dramatically changed since she's been gone. But with the love of my BF Derek, my dad, and the rest of my enormous family that I have been blessed with...I'm hanging in there. I refuse to let my moms efforts of raising me to have a great future and family of my own be in vein. She had a giant love for plants (she had her degree in horticulture and worked in that field for most of her life) , so today I will plant some of her favorite fruits and herbs in our garden in her honor.  I think she would really like that. And as these plants grow...so shall I, and so shall my love for my wonderful Mother.

Our Future:

My boyfriend and I have so much in common especially when it comes to our ultimate life goals, that's why we know that we can and will always be together. Our main goal is to build a CAL EARTH home, which is the ultimate self sustainable, self sufficient home. We are doing all we can to ensure that this dream becomes a reality. In todays world and economy, it is actually financial suicide to NOT have goals such as this...solar and wind power, vegetable garden, private water supply etc = FREEDOM! Freedom takes a lot of hard work now, but equals play later. No hard work and perpetually running on the hamster wheel that society has made for us out of our own blood, sweat, and tears= imprisonment. We want to fly...and THIS, we are sure is the answer!
